AZ Humanities Road Scholar Speaker at the Library Thursday, Feb. 16 @ 6pm

African-American Cotton Pickers in AZ

Guest speaker Akua Duku Anokye will be at the library Thursday, February 16 at 6:00 pm to discuss the lives of African Americans who came to the Arizona cotton fields between the 1940s and the 1960s. ┬áThe presentation will look at their daily lives, and at some of their cultural, historical, and economic contributions — from founding churches to serving as civic and social leaders.
