The Town of Florence was awarded $19,794.00 from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety to purchase extrication equipment to help the Florence Fire Department save lives.
The Florence Fire Department will use the equipment to help extricate trapped accident victims from damaged vehicles. The equipment includes a Honda Mach III 6.5hp hydraulic power unit, an S49XL Spreader and a C132 Cutter.
Florence Fire Chief Paul Carbajal is pleased with the grant award. “The acquisition of these tools is a great benefit to the Florence Fire Department and the citizens we serve. With the addition of these tools our ability to rescue people trapped in wrecked vehicles is greatly enhanced”.
