There are many exciting things happening again this week at the Florence Community Library. Best sellers, audio books, storytime for the kids and new books added to the book sale are just a few of the highlights.

The library has a growing collection of Playaways, self-contained digital audio books. Just plug in a pair of headphones or ear buds, press “Play” and the entire audio book plays. It includes track listings to make it easy to pick up where you left off. Popular titles that we stock on Playaway include:

Angels & Demons by Dan Brown
Maximum Ride: the Angel Experiment by James Patterson
Blood & Iron by Harry Turtledove
Storm Prey by John Sanford
Several language learning Playaways are also available.

Storytime is always a big hit for the kids. The theme for storytime on the 29th is Teddy Bears. Bring your favorite teddy bear and join “Miss Rita” for a Teddy Bear Picnic on Wednesday, September 29 at 10:00am. Drinks, snacks and a craft are provided along with extra teddy bears for those who might have forgotten to bring theirs.

Come down and look at the many books available for sale. Many children’s books been added to the ongoing Friends of the Library book sale. All children’s books and hardcover books are on sale for just 25¢. Paperback books are 2 books for 25¢. You just can’t beat the prices, so visit our comfortable seating area and pick out your reading materials!
