The Town of Florence is inviting Florence residents to attend the second Community Forum on the North End Framework Plan, which will be held on Wednesday, September 8th, from 5pm to 7pm at the Windmill Winery located at 1140 West Butte Avenue. 

The North End Framework Plan is a multi-faceted project that seeks to develop a variety of planning, engineering and economic development enhancement strategies for an area along the Gila River in the core area of Florence. At the project’s first Community Forum, Town staff and Swaback Partners, the project’s lead consultant, provided an introductory overview on the project and sought public comment on the project through the use of presentations, displays, comment cards, questionnaires and open discussion. 

Much has transpired since the first Community Forum and the Town and Swaback Partners are now looking forward to the opportunity to present the current status of the North End Framework Plan project and to provide insight into the next steps on the project. The first Community Forum and ongoing meetings with project stakeholder and technical groups supported the project team’s efforts in collecting, reviewing and analyzing critical information related to floodplain mitigation, transportation and land use issues within the project’s study area. The Community Forum format encourages the public to comment on new project information and findings and such comments will help to shape and define the final product and eventually guide how the project will be implemented.
