Florence Welcomes Interim Police Chief Daniel Hughes

The Town of Florence has hired Daniel Hughes to serve as Interim Police Chief for the Florence Police Department.  Chief Hughes has 33 years of experience in law enforcement, including 8 years as the Police Chief for the City of Surprise, Arizona.  His first day on the job is Monday, July 16, 2012.

Chief Hughes replaces Robert Ingulli, who served as the Police Chief for the Florence Police Department for nearly 12 years.  As of Friday, July 13, 2012, Mr. Ingulli is no longer employed by the Town of Florence.

“I am grateful for the service that Chief Ingulli provided to the community for more than 11 years.  He has led our Police Department as our community has grown in size and population, and I thank him for his service”, says Florence Town Manager Himanshu Patel.

Mr. Patel goes on to say, “I am confident in the skills and experience that Chief Hughes brings to the Town of Florence and I look forward to a smooth transition in the change of leadership in our Police Department”.

The Town of Florence begins a recruitment process to name the permanent police chief in the upcoming months.  The ideal candidate has multiple years of law enforcement and police administration experience and the ability to lead the Florence Police Department in a highly professional manner.
