Congratulations to David Moreno and the Others who Participated in the Summer Reading Program

The 2010 Arizona Summer Reading Program “Make a Splash” ended with more than 1,200 participants in the Reading Club and attending events at the library. The Adult Summer Reading Program “Water Your Mind” was also a success with 39 participants. The library and staff would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who participated and contributed in making this program a very successful one.

This year’s top reader is David Moreno, son of Maria Moreno. David read more than 250 books this summer. Those who read more than 100 books include Kiersten Keller, Daniel Mortensen, Nylee Hamilton and Leonardo Ponce.

The list of honorable readers include Aisha Lara, Hannah Cundiff, Jesus Fernando Moreno, Miki Ysaguirre, Corbin Smith, Destiny Booth, Seth Shoemaker, Sarah Shoemaker, Abigail Johnson, Juliauna Paulson, Savannah Garcia, Hunter Gray, Hayden Gray, Shelby Cox, Gabe Cox, Tanner Cox, Gabby Oson and Nate Oson.

Special thanks to the volunteers who helped to make this year’s program a great success. The volunteers included Emmanuel Bobo, Aaron Booth, Cassidy Booth, Autumn Carrasco, Hannah Cundiff, Breann Hamilton, Nylee Hamilton, Brayden Mason, Daniel Mortensen, Zayranne Thaxton and Christopher Jeromin.

Generous support and donations were provided to the library. Thank you to Friends of the Florence Community Library, Tom and Lynn Smith, Pinal County Historical Museum, McDonalds and Ronald McDonald, Arizona Diamondbacks, Phoenix Zoo, Florence True Value Hardware, Arizona Cardinals, Harkins Theatres, Peaceable Kingdom Press, Copper Basin YMCA, USA’s Skateland Mesa, and COSTCO of Gilbert.
