Applications Set to Open for Vacant Council Position
The Florence Town Council will accept applications to fill the vacant Council seat for the term expiring December 2026.
Interested applicants residing within the Town of Florence are encouraged to submit an application, cover memo and resume through the Town Clerk by Wednesday, May 1, 2024. Eligible candidates must have been a Florence resident for a least one year, be at least 18 years of age, and a registered voter.

Town of Florence Election Information
The Town Clerk’s Office is responsible for Town elections and serves as your point of contact for any election-related questions. Our team of highly trained municipal clerks provides prospective candidate documents, voter registration information, and polling place information.
Through an Intergovernmental Agreement with Pinal County, the Town of Florence holds Council elections in the fall of even-numbered years. Other elections may be called on an as-needed basis.
- Primary Election is held on July 30 in 2024 HB2785.
- General Election will be held November 5, 2024, if there is a runoff for one or more races.
The Town Council is a seven-member non-partisan body elected to serve at large, representing all citizens. The Mayor and Council serve four-year terms and there are no term limits.

In order to be qualified to vote at the Primary Election, you must be registered by July 1, 2024. Cut-off for General Election is October 7, 2024.

Can I vote early for Town elections?
Yes, deadline to request an early ballot from the Pinal County Recorder’s Office is 11 days prior to Election Day. Ballots must be received by the Pinal County Recorder by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day. The ballots must be mailed back via the self addressed stamped envelope or can be dropped off at the Recorder’s Office in Casa Grande, AZ or Florence, AZ by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.
What is Permanent Early Voting List (PEVL)
Registered voters may place their name on the Permanent Early Voting List of PEVL. An early ballot will automatically be mailed to voters on the PEVL approximately 27 days prior to all Town elections. For more information contact Pinal County Voter Registration. How do I register to vote?
To register to vote, you must be:
- U.S. Citizen
- Age eighteen (18) or more prior to the election in which voting is desired.
- Be a resident of the State twenty-nine (29) days before the election in which voting is desired.
- Able to write name or make mark unless prevented from so doing by physical disability.
- Civil rights restored if treason or felony committed.
- Has not been adjudicated an incapacitated person as defined in A.R.S. Sec 14-5101.
