Eclipse Viewing at the Library: Monday, Aug. 21
August 21 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am
Monday, August 21, there will be a total solar eclipse for the first time in 99 years! Join us at the Florence Community Library on August 21, from 9:30 to 11:30 am, for a viewing of the eclipse.
Peak viewing in Arizona will be at 10:33 am. The library will provide eclipse glasses (while supplies last) for safe viewing during the program, with our thanks to Coolidge Public Library for supplying the glasses. Everyone is urged to remember that it is not safe to look directly at the sun without proper protection!
As part of this event, the library will project NASA’s live feed. This broadcast will feature images captured before, during, and after the eclipse by 11 spacecraft, at least three NASA aircraft, more than 50 high-altitude balloons, and the astronauts aboard the International Space Station – each offering a unique vantage point for the celestial event! You can find more information about NASA’s coverage at:https://eclipse2017.nasa.gov/eclipse-live-stream.
This event is open to all ages, with activity packets provided for children in attendance. We hope to see you there as we celebrate the celestial event of the century!
