Mission Statement

Our department’s mission is to provide exceptional service through communication and accountability, while always being transparent.

Vision Statement

The vision of our department is to build upon our solid foundation, by garnering the trust of our citizens by managing their tax dollars in an ethical manner.

 

The Finance Department is responsible for receipting funds received by the Town and monitoring sales tax.  The department also oversees payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, grants, accounting, auditing, special districts, as well as budget preparation and administration.

 

The Finance Department’s Grants Division endeavors to provide alternative funding sources through grant searches, grant application, grant awards and grant reporting.  The Grants Division provides funding for necessary capital and operational needs that the Town may not be able to fund through its normal budgets.

The Grants Division works to improve the quality of life for the residents of the Town of Florence by obtaining grants to meet community needs.

The Grants Division assists Town government by researching funding or technical assistance opportunities to support municipal or community needs that have been identified and by providing staff assistance with writing, submitting grant applications and administering awards.  The Grants Division neither writes, nor administers grants on behalf of special interest groups including non-profit or private organizations.

* The Town does not currently have any grant funds available for commercial building rehabilitation.

Arizona Department of Housing
Programs are available throughout Arizona for first-time home buyers.  They include down payment and/or closing cost assistance and other ways to make buying a home affordable. Telephone: 1-602-771-1000

Arizona Housing Finance Authority
The Arizona Housing Finance Authority is able to issue Multi-family Revenue Bonds for rental projects, low-interest Single-family Mortgage Revenue Bonds for first-time homebuyers’ primary financing, and Mortgage Credit Certificates to help provide additional income for first-time homebuyers through tax credits. USDA Rural Development
USDA Rural Development offers Section 502 loans to help low-income individuals or households purchase homes in rural areas. Funds can be used to build, repair, renovate or relocate a home, or to purchase and prepare sites, including water and sewage facilities.
