Fire Emergency Operations

The Florence Fire Department operates out of two fire stations and utilizes a three-platoon system for community emergencies, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In addition to the Fire Chief, the department has an Administrative and Operations Battalion Chief and Station Captains.

Both fire stations are strategically located throughout the Town of Florence to provide effective coverage, a quick response time, and protect critical infrastructure. It is the responsibility of Emergency Operations to utilize the departments personnel and apparatus to deliver a wide variety of both emergency and non-emergency services.

Emergency services provide by The Florence Fire Department include:

  • Advanced life support medical treatment
  • Fire suppression
  • Response to weather-related emergencies
  • Hazardous materials incident response

The Florence Fire Department is dispatched by the Florence Police Department. Primary non-emergency services include pre-incident planning and public safety education programs
