Garbage Pick-Up

The mission of the division is to manage the Town of Florence's Solid Waste System as a public owned utility for the collection, recycling, and disposal of municipal solid waste generated in the Town, in order to maintain a viably priced and accessible disposal option which, in turn, allows residents to maintain a clean, healthy, and aesthetically pleasing environment.

This division is responsible for the proper collection and disposal of garbage, trash, brush, and debris. We participate with Pinal County’s recycling program, and provide an informal recyling program to reduce landfill costs.  This helps to keep the cost down to the citizens.

Day of Collections:
Garbage collection (containerized) is done a minimum of two times per week.  A letter informing the customer is given with the delivery of container.

Container Information:
Town residents either have their own individual container or a container may be shared with neighbors (alley container).  Individual containers must be placed at the curb for collection no later than 6:00 a.m. on collection days and removed by 6:00 a.m. the day after collection.  Alley containers have been placed in the best location for efficient and effective collection and should not be moved.

Holiday Collection: - See 2012 Schedule
The Town of Florence works diligently  to ensure that services remain in service throughout the holiday season(s).  There may be times that pickup may be delayed because of holidays, but our staff strives to keep routes running on schedule.

Bulk Trash Collection:
Bulk trash collection consists mainly of those materials that are to large to be placed in your garbage container.  Bulk trash is collected from Town-served residents on a monthly basis.  Material should not be placed for collection more than one week prior to collection, since it is important to keep neighborhoods and the Town looking clean and beautiful.

Status Reporting:
A status display is available to document the last time bulk trash collection was made for each area within the Town limits.

Sanitation letter to Residents for rollout information

Currently in areas that do not have set dates for pickup, residents may place items out for pickup at any time.  They should be placed either in front or rear of your residence depending on whether or not there is alley access. Items should be placed neatly to facilitate pickup or chipping.  Please do not block sidewalks, alleys, or roadways.
