Gather your family and friends and register for the Florence Parks and Recreation Department’s Hiking Club.
The first hike this season is Saturday, November 8, 2014 and it starts at the Lost Gold Mine Trailhead in the Superstition Mountains. It is a three-mile, round trip, moderately easy hike, to the Hieroglyphic Canyon Trail. The final destination is the Hohokam Indian petroglyphs and rock shelter.
The registration deadline is Friday, November 7. A hiking information sheet is provided upon registration.
Participants meet at the Florence Fitness Center (133 N. Main Street) at 8:45 am. Departure time is 9 am sharp and participants then drive themselves to the trailhead. The hike and drive-time for this event is approximately four to five hours.
The fee is $5.00 for this event and there is a 15 person group limit. Hikers under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
