Responsible for instructing and coaching individuals on exercise equipment, exercises and activities. Must be able to help members assess their physical fitness level with encouragement to help them set and reach their fitness goals. Assist in planning and coordinating various fitness activities at recreation site, facility, or specialty area within the Parks and Recreation Department.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Typical workweek requires working Monday – Friday; schedule varies afternoon and evening classes.
Schedule is subject to change to accommodate business necessity. Employee may be required to carry,
push/pull and move objects and materials up to 50 pounds. The Town of Florence promotes a
drug/alcohol free work environment.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIRED:
High school diploma or GED, plus educational background in Physical Education, Exercise Science, Health
Education or related area. Must be able to obtain Silver Sneakers Certification within three (3) months of
hire. Must have and maintain a valid Arizona Driver’s License.
