Embark on a cinematic “Journey Story” Tuesday evenings at the Florence Community Library!
The library is participating in “Journey Stories,” a Smithsonian on Main Street exhibit at McFarland State Historic Park from November 16 through December 29, 2013. To tie in with exhibit, the library is hosting a film series Tuesdays at 5:30 pm.
A movie will be shown in the library programming room every Tuesday at 5:30 pm, with the first one on November 19. Each movie spotlights a “Journey Story.” Some are based in the past, some in the present. Some are based on fact, some entirely fictional. Each focuses on a journey of some type, with a brief, optional discussion available after the film. All movies are rated between “G” and “PG-13,” so viewers of all ages are welcome (with parent/guardian supervision of children 10 and under).
Preceding each movie will be a 5-minute local interest documentary, produced and directed by local resident Ruth Harrison.
Popcorn is provided, and patrons may feel free to bring dinner and a soft drink to the show! For title information or any other questions, please contact the library at (520) 868-8311.
