The Town of Florence Parks and Recreation Department is currently accepting registrations for its Junior NBA Youth Basketball League. The deadline to register is Friday, October 18th.
Boys and girls from 6 to 17 years old are eligible to play in the following divisions: Junior Division (6 to 8 years old), Senior Division (9 to 13 years old), and the Teen Division (14 to 17 years old). Ages are determined as of October 18, 2013.
This is a fundamental league focusing on fun, sportsmanship, and team play. Participants registered for the Junior Division play on 8 or 9 foot modified rims. The Senior Division and Teen Division play on regulation hoops.
There is a fee of $30.00 per participant. Each participant receives a T-shirt and picture trophy. Most games are played Saturdays and some during midweek, starting in November, at the Florence multi- purpose center (Fernando Ortega), located at 225 S. Orlando Street.
Volunteer coaches are needed for the successful operation of this program.
