Take a trip through the history of the Arizona State Prison at the Florence Community Library! On Wednesday, October 19, at 6:00 pm, the library will host a presentation about the Arizona State Prison in Florence. Founded in 1908, this site replaced the Territorial Prison in Yuma. It has played a major role in the history of both the town and the state, and continues to do so today.

Join presenter Martin Hall in the library’s programming room at 6:00 pm. He will discuss the prison’s history and development, and will relate some colorful events from the past – some strange and some harrowing. Photographs and visual materials are included with the presentation, to help bring these tales to life!

For more information about this event, please contact the Florence Community Library at (520) 868 – 8311.
