Spring is on the horizon and what better way to celebrate warmer weather than playing softball? The Florence Parks and Recreation Department is presenting its March Mayhem 3 Softball Series on Saturday, March 1st, and Saturday, March 8th at Heritage Park.
The first tournament, scheduled for March 1st, is a co-ed tournament with a double-elimination format. Men will hit a 14-inch softball and the women will hit a 12-inch softball.
The second tournament is scheduled for March 8th. This tournament will have all men’s and all women’s divisions.
Awards are given out at both tournaments. Awards go to first through third place teams, as well as a male and female Most Valuable Player award.
Registration is limited to the first 10 teams in each division. The cost for registration is $185 per team per tournament, which must be paid by Friday, February 21st for co-ed tournament and Friday, February 28th for the all men’s and all women’s division tournament. Registrations are accepted at the Parks and Recreation Department, located at 132 N. Bailey Street or online at www.florenceaz.gov/parks.
