The Florence Police Department now has two prescription drug drop boxes available to the community. Community members can drop off any unused, expired, or unwanted used prescription medicines 24 hours a day, seven days a week at either location.
Drop boxes are located in the lobby of the Florence Police Department, located at 425 North Pinal Street, and now in the lobby of the Florence Fire Station and Police Substation, located at 2035 N. Hunt Highway. The drop boxes are provided to the community through a partnership with the Arizona State Attorney’s Office.
It is important to dispose of unwanted prescription medications properly to help reduce harm from accidental exposure or intentional misuse. The Florence Police Department collects the medications from the drop boxes every month before they are destroyed in an incinerator.
