Dear Florence Residents:
Nearly 78% of the voters at the Town of Florence Special Election voted for the Town of Florence to regain local control. The result of the election allows the Town staff to work with the Town Council and residents to create a budget that retains existing services for the community.
We thank you for your support and your trust.
This month, the Town Council is hosting discussions that are open to the public regarding the development of the fiscal year 2015/2016 budget. Ultimately, this budget will guide the Town’s actions for the next 12 months. We strongly encourage you to attend one or more of these meetings to learn more about the budget process and to provide your ideas to help us create a budget that truly reflects the needs of the community.
It is paramount that we, the Florence Town Council, act in a fiscally responsible manner to maximize the amount of services and projects that are provided to the community. There is hard work ahead of us but, with your help, we can get it done.
The recent election provided us with the ability to adopt a workable budget for the next 12 months. We will be coming back to the voters in May 2016 to, once again, ask for your direction on the next budget year. We hope that we will have earned your support and your trust once again.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please attend a council meeting, contact us directly, or contact Town staff, so that we can be responsive to the needs of the community.
Sincerely,

Mayor and Florence Town Council
