Gather your family and friends and register for the Florence Parks and Recreation Department’s first ever Hiking Club. The first hike is Saturday, January 12, at the San Tan Mountain Regional Park. It is a two-mile interpretive hike along the Goldmine Trail.

Hikers learn about the mysterious life of the Man of the Mountain. Following that interpretive hike, an additional one will be available to those who wish to participate.

Participants meet at the Florence Fitness Center, located at 133 N. Main Street, at 8:45 am and then drive themselves to the trailhead. We leave at 9:00 am sharp – so don’t be late!

A Hiking Handout is provided upon registration, so it is recommended that you register before the day of the hike. While registration for the Hiking Club is free, there is a $6.00 vehicle park entry fee.  Hikers under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

The club’s next hikes are scheduled for February 9th and March 9th.  Future destinations will be announced 1 week prior to the hike.
