Town of Florence Fright Fest 2012

The Town of Florence Parks and Recreation Department invites you and your family to a safe, fun filled evening at the annual, “Florence Fright Fest”. The event is Halloween night, Wednesday, October 31st, from 6:00pm to 8:30pm at the Florence Little League Park, located at 218 E. 8th Street

The following activities are scheduled:

  • There are games for all ages, including a “Haunted Dugout”.

  • Bring your pre-carved Jack-O-Lanterns for the Pumpkin Carving Contest beginning at 6:00pm.  Categories for the contest are Best Traditional (Carved), Best Decorated (Non-Carved), Most Creative, Best Family, and Best Adult Overall. Judging is at 7:30pm.

  • Dress up the whole family and enter the Costume Contests.  Awards are given in the following categories:  Best Super Hero, Best Celebrity, Best Fairy Tale & Storybook, Best Traditional (vampires, devils, witches, etc.), Scariest, Best Homemade,  Best Unclassified (ages 12 months to 17 years),  Best Costumed Adult and Best Costumed Family.  The costume contest begins at 6:30pm.  

  • This year we will again be extending invitations to any service groups, school clubs, local businesses, organizations, etc. interested in creating a game booth to promote their program and foster community involvement.  Please stop by the office for an entry form.  Candy is provided by the department for all booth operators prior to the event.

Canned food donations are accepted to benefit the Florence Food Bank.  Please contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 868-7589 for further information.
