Donations for the Town’s first Veteran’s Memorial are now being accepted.  The idea for a memorial was conceived by local veterans with the support of Councilmember John Anderson.  The memorial’s site selection and other details were confirmed by a volunteer committee over the past year.  The location will be the plaza area outside the Florence Library and Community Center.   Cost of the project is estimated at $65,000 to $75,000.  The Town will match donations up to $40,000 leaving the balance to private donations. Plans are to have the memorial dedicated on Memorial Day 2019.  The donation form is on the Town web site (www.florenceaz.gov/parks-and-recreation).  The form is also available at the community center.
