Florence, AZ – The Town of Florence congratulates Utilities Director Jonathan Tuomey on accepting a new position with the City of Glendale.
Tuomey submitted his resignation on July 14, and his final working day will be July 30.
“While we’re sad to see Jonathan leave Florence, we are incredibly proud of him and congratulate him on this well-deserved opportunity,” Town Manager Bruce Walls said. “Jonathan has been a valued member of our leadership team and has worked hard to strengthen the Utilities Department and serve our residents. We appreciate everything he has contributed to Florence and wish him continued success.”
During his time with Florence, Tuomey provided leadership to the Town’s Utilities Department and worked alongside employees throughout the organization to support the delivery of essential water and wastewater services. He expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to serve the community and for the relationships he developed with Town employees, elected officials and residents.
“It has truly been an honor and privilege to serve the Town of Florence,” Tuomey said. “I am incredibly proud of what our Utilities team has accomplished together and grateful for the trust, support and confidence placed in me throughout my time here. Florence is a special community, and I will always value the relationships and experiences I gained while serving its residents.”
The Town will begin the process of appointing interim leadership for the Utilities Department to provide continuity during the transition. Recruitment for Florence’s next Utilities Director will also begin in the coming days.
The Town thanks Tuomey for his service to Florence and wishes him and his family the very best as he begins this next chapter with the City of Glendale.
