The first in a series of historic lectures is Tuesday, November 19th at 6:00 p.m. in the Library and Community Center. Community Services has partnered with Az Humanities to present another season of historic presentations. Tuesday’s program is titled, Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) of WWII. During the war, 1,000 women served as Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP), freeing male pilots for combat roles at a critical time. Natalie J. Stewart-Smith, the presenter at this free event, has been an educator/historian for over 25 years and a former Army officer. The Community Center is located at 778 N. Main Street.
