The final historic presentation in a series of lectures from AZ Humanities is on Tuesday, I March 17th at 6:00 p.m. in the Library and Community Center. The presentation is titled, The Gila: The River or History. Six hundred miles long from its source in the mountains of southwestern New Mexico to its confluence with the Colorado River above Yuma, the Gila has been an important route for birds, animals, plants and people across the desert for millennia. This presentation will pack 70 million years of history into an entertaining and informative hour. Gregory McNamee will present this free event. He’s written 40 books and more than 6,000 articles and other publications. McNamee is also a research fellow at the Southwest Center of the University of Arizona and a lecturer in the Eller School of Management. The Community Center is located at 778 N. Main Street.
