If Florence Police Department has safekeeping, unclaimed, or found property that belongs to a person, please contact our Property and Evidence Division to schedule a date and time for pickup. Only the lawful owner, or legal guardian of any found property will be allowed to receive and sign for property. ARS 12-944. Owner receipt; publication of property valued at more than one hundred fifty dollars
A. If an agency takes any property from a person, the agency shall provide the person with a detailed receipt for the property. The receipt shall contain a notice to the person on how to retrieve the property from the agency.
B. If the owner of found property that has a value of more than one hundred fifty dollars is not known, the agency holding the property shall publish or post a notice containing a description of the property before the final disposal of the property.
If you believe your property is listed above, please contact the Florence Police Department – Property and Evidence Division to schedule an appointment to retrieve your property. Property will only be released to an individual if the individual has proof of ownership of the property (receipts, pictures, serial numbers, etc.). The Property and Evidence Division Personnel will decide if the individual meets the proof of ownership criteria. If the owner of the property cannot be identified, the property will be dispositioned according to ARS 12-941.
