The Town of Florence is holding public hearings for the purpose of soliciting feedback from the public for the fiscal year 2016/2017 primary property tax levy, secondary property tax levy for Community Facilities District (CFD) No. 1 and secondary property tax levy for CFD No. 2 on July 18 at 6:00 p.m.
The Budget Committee is recommending that the Florence Town Council adopt an ordinance with no increase in the property tax levy rate from the prior year of $1.1182 per $100 of Net Assessed Value (NAV). The Budget Committee is also recommending no increase in the secondary property tax levy rate for CFD No. 1 and CFD No. 2.
The amount of tax is based on a $100,000 dollar home. A $100,000 home at the current rate of $1.1182 per $100 of NAV is $111.82. However, the primary property tax for homeowners may not exceed 1% of their home’s primary assessed value. This 1% limitation only applies to primary property taxes and does not affect the secondary property tax levy. You may or may not notice an increase to your tax bill if you are a homeowner.
The public hearings are scheduled to be held at 775 N. Main Street, Florence Arizona, on July 18, 2016 at 6:00 P.M. The Florence Town Council is expected to take action on the ordinances and adopt the property tax levies at the same meeting.
