Everyone is invited to the 35th Annual Florence Historic Home Tour this Saturday, February 8th. This year’s theme is: “Vision of Past and Present” which describes the historic significance of Florence and its importance to our community, today. The tour begins downtown at Jaques Square, 8th Street and Main and runs from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Advance tickets are available through Friday, February 7th for only $15 each. Ticket prices are $20 on Saturday beginning at 9:30 a.m. Tickets may also be purchased locally at the Chamber of Commerce, Pinal County Historical Museum or at the Florence Library and Community Center, 778 N. Main Street. Five historic homes and 13 buildings will be open from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Ticket sales and the tour begin downtown at Jaques Square, 8th Street and Main. Visitors may walk the tour route or ride on one of three available trolleys. Other events during the Home Tour include:
- The Florence Arts and Culture Commission is hosting its fourth annual Quick Draw Artist Contest and Auction starting at 9:30 a.m., at the Jacob Suter House. Artists start with an empty canvas and have 90 minutes to begin and complete a portrait or landscape scene. The finished art pieces will be auctioned off at the end of the contest. Spectators are welcome to watch as these talented artists, create impressive works of art. The Suter House is at 270 N. Pinal Street.
- The Pinal County Historical Museum is displaying vintage toys from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Come hear the great sounds of the Mariachi Cielito Lindo band at Padilla Park (behind the Silver King Plaza) from 11:30 am. to 1:00 p.m.
- The museum is also hosting the Wild Horse and Burro Program, with guest speaker Randy Helm at 2:00 p.m.
