Town Manager’s Office

The Town Manager’s Office provides centralized direction and leadership for the effective administration and operations of all municipal services for the Town of Florence, as directed by the Town Council, and serves as the focal point for the management of the Town staff and departments.

 

The Town Manager’s Office prepares and submits to the Town Council a balanced plan of municipal services in accordance with the policy goals and objectives established by the Town Council.  the office employs such managerial techniques as needed to assure efficient and effective utilization of the Town’s resources.

Biography of Town Manager

 

Bruce Walls was appointed as the Town Manager of Florence in September 2024, after serving as Interim Town Manager since April 2024. His leadership and dedication have been key to shaping the town’s future and guiding its growth in alignment with the Florence Town Council's vision.

 

With over 40 years of experience in public service, including his role as Florence’s Police Chief since 2019, Mr. Walls brings a wealth of knowledge and deep commitment to the Florence community. Prior to joining Florence, he served as Assistant Chief of Investigations with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office and retired from the Peoria Police Department as the Commander of the North Precinct. He is also a 20-year veteran of the United States Air Force, where he retired as a First Sergeant.

 

Mr. Walls holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Phoenix. He has continued his professional development through programs such as the Northwestern Command School of Leadership, the ASU Certified Public Manager’s Course, Leadership West, and the FBI National Academy. His strong leadership, communication skills, and ability to build trusted relationships have earned him respect from both colleagues and residents.

 

As Town Manager, Mr. Walls is committed to fostering Florence’s prosperity and working collaboratively with the Town Council and community to create a thriving future for all residents.
