Power Performer for the Month of May is Phillip Riccomini! Phillip was the leading force behind the redevelopment of the Police/Fire Department’s Communications Center. He was influential in obtaining grants from the Governor’s Office and Senator Mark Kelly’s Office totaling over $2M. The money was immediately put to use designing and reallocating space in the Police Department to house the new Dispatch Center, which included the addition of a lavatory and office space.

Phillip quickly researched and ordered the new equipment needed to support a state-of-the-art communications center and, once received, began the ardent task of putting everything in place. Understanding the new center would require our current operations to be moved while renovations were taking place, he led the charge in working with the County to utilize their mobile Communications Center, resulting in no lapse in service and no additional cost.

In a matter of months, Phillip had the new Dispatch Center open and ready for public safety use, an impeccable mindset in getting things done! In the reutilization of space, he created a new Police Officer Briefing Room where officers are able to receive intelligence and information prior to their daily field engagements. He did this on his own, understanding it was a critical need for law enforcement. Phillip’s singular effort is of great impact to this community and Town, and to its ability to maintain a standing as one of the safest communities in the State of Arizona.
