The quiet giant!  Dan is simply one of those people who gravitates to getting things done well before a project comes to light—strategic mindset.  Quickly identified two bridge roadway failures in the north portion of Town.  Dan immediately sought emergency funding, isolated the insolvency, engineered traffic rerouting measures and put his crew to work—roadways completed in one week with minimal traffic interruption.  His quick actions potentially saved lives, money, and critical infrastructure failure.  Dan believes in his troops, he has taken on the role of mentorship with his lead street manager.  His hands on approach and stewardship has garnered results.  During his absence, his manager has proven highly competent in discharging the duties of Superintendent, during a recent road closure, this person gave me a call and I wondered “why are you calling me” on the other end, this friendly voice said “Dan told me I was to give you a call, when roads are shut down in case you need to notify Council”—well done, most don’t draw the association, Dan did!  He would simply like to go under the radar and do his job, but the job he does on a daily basis requires recognition if not for himself, his team.   No doubt my selection for Power Performer October 2025.
