Rodney Sherwood came to us in a time when we were experiencing extreme difficulty with our Wastewater Plants.  Initially hired as a Wastewater Technician with a Level IV classification Rodney was key in identifying critical areas of concern and putting in practices to fix them.  When  asked to lead the department in plant operations Rodney readily raised his hand and took on the job of marshalling the Town through an Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) consent order.  Rodney was strategic in planning an approach to remedy several fallacies in department operations.  Key in filling open positions with personnel that fit a collaborative work environment structure.  His hand in leadership quickly turned plant operations around and we are well ahead of meeting the expectations of ADEQ.  None better than Rodney–truly deserving of distinction and simply one of my best.  Without question, he is the Power Performer for September 2025.
