Florence, AZ – On Jan. 30, 2026, the Town of Florence received an Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) Asphalt Recycling Grant totaling $217,784.52 to purchase asphalt recycling equipment.
The Town will use the equipment to reuse existing asphalt instead of sending it to landfills. This reduces material costs and supports more efficient, sustainable roadway maintenance. The Environmental Budget Reconciliation Bill funds the grant and creates opportunities for small communities.
Recycled asphalt is a proven roadway construction method used nationwide. By making this investment, Florence strengthens its ability to maintain and improve local roads while using existing materials wisely. This approach stretches taxpayer dollars without compromising quality or safety.
