The National Recreation and Park Association proclaimed July as “Parks and Recreation month.” This year’s theme is “Out is In.” Go outside and get involved with your community through parks and recreation.
To celebrate “Out is In”, the Town of Florence Parks and Recreation Department planned a tubing trip down the Salt River on Sunday, July 13th. Join others in your community and see wild horses, deer, great blue heron, osprey, bald eagles, and other wildlife on this scenic, outlook changing, three hour float.
Participants meet at the Florence Fitness Center, located at 133 N. Main Street, at 7:00 a.m. and then drive themselves to the Saguaro Lake Ranch. Tubes, life jackets and transportation to and from the Salt River are provided by Saguaro Lake Ranch. It’s recommended that you bring water, a snack, sunscreen, and dress to get wet!
The registration deadline is June 28th. Be sure to register early as there is a 24 person limit. The cost is $20 per person and open to ages 10 years of age and older. Children 10 to 12 years are required to wear lifejackets and must be at least 4 feet tall.
