Town Manager
The Town Manager's Office provides centralized direction and leadership for the effective administration and operations of all municipal services for the Town of Florence as directed by the Town Council and serves as the focal point for the management of the Town staff and departments. The Town Manager's Office prepares and submits to the Town Council a balanced plan of municipal services in adherence with the policy goals and objectives established by the Town Council while employing such managerial techniques as needed to assure efficient and effective utilization of the Town's resources.
Education and Employment:
Himanshu Patel was appointed by Town Council to serve as Town Manager for the Town of Florence, Arizona on August 4, 2003. Prior to joining the Town, Mr. Patel has served local governments, including Planner and Planning Director positions with the City of Little Rock, Arkansas and Central Arizona Association of Governments.
Mr. Patel earned a Master of Science in Urban Planning from the University of Arizona as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics from University of Memphis. He is a full member of the International City/County Management Association and the Arizona City/County Management Association.
Responsibilities:
The Town Manager serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Town. He serves as an advisor to the Town Council on policy items impacting the community and the Town organization. The Town Manager appoints the Town's department heads and is responsible for ensuring that Town services are performed to the highest standard in accordance with Council policies. The Town Manager is responsible for the submission of the Town's budget and implementation in support of Town Council goals.
