June’s theme for the Summer Reading Program, “Every Hero Has a Story!”, continues at the Florence Community Library. The second week of activities focuses on “Who is your superhero?”.

The Summer Reading Program for the week of June 8 starts off on Monday when the second set of trivia handouts are available for children and young adults. On Tuesday at 2:00 pm, the library is hosting a movie for teens, ages 13 and up. On Wednesday at 10:00 am join us for Family Storytime, with “Jennifer Sattler’s Chick ‘n’ Pug Meet the Dude.” On Thursday at 2:00 pm, families design their own “Superhero Mask “craft. On Friday, the library is showing a family movie at 1:00 pm, with free popcorn and drink.

Adults can also “Escape the Ordinary” with the library’s Adult Summer Reading Program! Join us on Friday, June 12, when author Monica Vickers discusses her memoir, “My Extraordinary Life.” Signed copies are available for purchase courtesy of the Friends of the Florence Community Library. On Saturday, June 13, the monthly movie focuses on the life of an extraordinary modern figure. Adults also receive an entry for the weekly prize drawings for each book read!
