Make plans to attend Florence Parks and Recreation’s Annual “Christmas on Main Street” event on Friday, December 5th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. 

Beginning at 6:00 p.m., holiday crafts, food vendors, train rides for young children, inflatables, music and the popular Gingerbread House contest are held at Padilla Park, located at the intersection of Main Street and Ruggles Street.  An Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest (sponsored by Bucks 4 Style) begins at 7:00 p.m.  

Register for the Gingerbread House Contest (sponsored by Belva’s Real Estate) at 6:30 p.m. with judging beginning at 7:30 p.m.  Prizes are awarded in the following three categories:  Edible, Non-edible, Judge’s Choice and 12 and Under. Photos with Santa Claus starts at 6:00 p.m. and is at the Florence Fudge Shop in the Silver King Marketplace, located adjacent to Padilla Park.     

Be sure to vote for your favorite store front decorations during the “Main of Lights” event.  Main Street businesses and store fronts light up the downtown the entire month of December. Cast your vote for the best decorated storefront. 

The evening concludes with the Holiday Light Parade on Main Street beginning at 8:00 p.m.  The parade offers a variety of floats and bands and ends at Main and 12th Streets.
