A “ghostly” time is planned for all who attend Wednesday’s Fright Fest and Haunted House in downtown Florence.  The annual Halloween events are presented by Florence Community Services Department and run from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. along Main Street.  The night’s activities include the Costume Contest (starts at 6:30 p.m.), Pumpkin Carving Contest (7:30 p.m.), carnival booth games and plenty of candy. This is a free event (except for food vendors) and everyone is invited to dress in the costume of their choice and join the fun. Halloween isn’t complete without a haunted house, so the Florence Teen Council will turn the American Legion building into a cavern of scary fun starting at 5:30 p.m.  Admission is only $1 per person.  Come early as last year’s haunted house attracted close to 500 people.  The Legion is located at Ruggles and Main Streets.
