All roads lead to Florence, Arizona on Saturday, February 8, 2014.  The sixth oldest community in Arizona will present its 29th Annual Home Tour from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

This year’s tour will showcase homes never seen or not appearing on the tour for years, as well as many award winning buildings dating back to territorial days.  These structures have been rehabilitated for today’s modern world so hence our theme:  “Historic Buildings & Modern Lives”.

Several homes and buildings have been completely remade inside and out while maintaining their unique architecture and historic flavor.  This year’s Florence, Arizona Home Tour is a special celebration designed to show Florence’s transition from our Territorial past into the modern times.  The route has been planned for those to enjoy a leisurely stroll through Main Street or hop a ride to some of the outlying buildings.

Exciting new additions to this year’s tour are the “Vintage Dolls & Trains” exhibit at the Pinal County Historic Museum, a hands on demonstration and talk about building and restoring adobes with “Bonnie & the Mudman” at McFarland State Park, gold panning exhibition by the Desert Gold Diggers, a Civil War artillery demonstration, car show, and food vendors.

Tickets are only $12 for adults and $10 in advance.  Children 18 and under may attend without charge.  To reserve advanced tickets, call (520) 868-7583.

Questions about the tour may be directed to John Nixon, Town of Florence Parks and Recreation Department, at (520) 868-7699.
