Everyone is invited to attend and participate in the annual Reel Kids Fishing Derby and Family Campout on Saturday, March 7.  The fun begins at 12:00 p.m.  “Lake Florence” in Heritage Park will be alive with hungry, jumping catfish, just waiting to be reeled in by kids 18 and under (adults can fish after 2:00 p.m.).

This free event is hosted by the Town of Florence Parks and Recreation Department.  There is music, food and various prizes, including an award for the Largest Fish Caught.

Overnight camping is allowed for this event and tents may be set up Saturday by 2:00 p.m.  All the fishing equipment, including rods, reels and bait are available for kids to check out on a first-come, first-served basis, beginning at 11:15 a.m.
