On Saturday, May 5, at 1:00pm, the Florence Community Library is hosting author Susan Lowell.  Her honors include the OneBook Arizona award, the Arizona Young Reader Award, two Spur Awards from the Western Writers of America, and the Milkweed Editions National Fiction Prize. 

Lowell is a fourth-generation Arizonian.  Her great-grandparents, grandparents, and parents were Arizona explorers, cowboys, schoolteachers, engineers, and artists.  After working as a journalist and college professor, she became a full-time writer and publisher. 

She is the author of sixteen books for adults and Children, including The Three Javalinas, I Am Lavina Cumming, Cindy Ellen, The Elephant Quilt, and The Great Grand Canyon Time Train.
