The Town of Florence Parks and Recreation Department, in collaboration with the Arizona Department of Corrections, is hosting the 1st Annual “Ball and Chain Arizona Prison and Law Enforcement Invitational” Co-ed Slow Pitch Softball Tournament on Saturday, May 2, 2015. 

The tournament is limited to the first 12 teams that register.  Awards are available for first and second place teams and the male and female MVP for the championship winning team. The overall champion receives the Wardens Cup traveling trophy that is kept at their job location until the next scheduled tournament.  The overall champions also receive champion t-shirts and bragging rights. 

The makeup of each team is six males and four females on the field. Prison or law enforcement credentials are required to participate, however, a maximum of one male and one female or two female non-law enforcement or non-prison participants are allowed.  14 inch and 12 inch softballs are used. 

There is an early bird discount fee of $250, if teams register and pay registration fees by Friday, April 10. Thereafter, the registration fee of $285 is due by Friday, April 24.  Registrations are accepted at the Florence Parks and Recreation Department, located at 132 N.
