Members of the Town of Florence’s Planning and Zoning Commission and the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board recently heard an update by representatives from Michael Baker International (MBI) about the Active Transportation Plan. MBI provides engineering and consulting services and was hired to prepare the Plan which when completed, will analyze bike and pedestrian traffic along with the connectivity between destinations throughout Florence. The plan will also develop policies and procedures to create a safe and efficient bicycle and pedestrian traffic system. There is still time for citizens to shape this plan by completing a short survey. Results from the survey will help planners evaluate and prioritize short-to-long term improvements. The survey is located on the Town of Florence’s web site at www.florenceaz.gov/active-transportation-plan/.
