In response to the ongoing situation with the COVID-19 virus, the Community Services Department has made the following operations and events adjustments in the interest of caution and in support of other preventative measures:
- All special events are canceled through the end of April. This includes POWWOW, Eggstravaganza, Road to Country Thunder, and Movie in the Park. Please note that Casa Grande is hosting POWWOWs (Produce on Wheels without Waste) on March 28th and April 25th at 820 E. Cottonwood Lane from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on both dates.
- All Recreation, Senior Center and Library programming is canceled until Monday March 30th.
- The Fitness Center and Library are closed until further notice.
- The Dorothy Nolan Senior Center is closed. Pick-up meals are available from 11:30 a.m. until noon, Monday through Friday for those who call the center prior to Tuesday the previous week. Home-bound seniors may also qualify for lunch meals delivered. Call the senior center at (520) 868-7622 for more information. Senior Center staff will also shop for groceries at Coolidge Walmart, Safeway Anthem, Dollar General Store. Staff will pick-up prescriptions at Walmart, Sun Life and Safeway Pharmacies. Those seniors who wish to be placed on this list need to call the senior center at (520) 868-7622.
- The Medical Equipment Loan Program will continue to be offered but patrons must contact Community Services staff at (520) 868-7040 to arrange for pickup and drop-off.
- All room reservations at the Florence Community Center and department facility rentals are suspended at this time.
- All Town parks will remain open. Park restrooms are open and will receive cleaning and supply service as resources allow.
- The Community Center is open from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- The children’s Intersession and After School Programs are open.
