Highway 79 in Florence between Hunt Highway and Arizona Farms Road is closed to thru traffic beginning on Friday, July 20th due to construction improvements to the railroad crossing by Copper Basin Railroad.  The construction is expected to last a few days, if weather is cooperative.

The detour for motorists is identified as Felix Road.  Drivers are asked to travel east and west along Arizona Farms Road and Hunt Highway and north and south along Felix Road to avoid the construction area.   The detour is expected to add about 15 to 20 minutes of travel time to the normal commute.

Access for emergency responders is maintained at the construction site.  Local traffic (residents of Florence Gardens, Caliente, Vista Hermosa, etc.) must use the detour route.

This project is not handled by the Town of Florence.  For more information about the project, construction times, detour routes, or similar info, contact RoadSafe Traffic Systems at (602)-243-1218.
