The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is holding a public hearing regarding its proposed issuance of a Class III Underground Injection Control (UIC) Area Permit for Florence Copper Inc. on Thursday, January 22 at the Florence High School gymnasium, located at 1000 South Main Street.  

The open-house portion of the meeting runs from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm and the public hearing is set for 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.  The public is strongly encouraged to attend, learn more about the project, and voice their opinion on the proposed permit and the proposed Florence Copper mine.  

The EPA has extended its deadline to receive written public comment to March 16, 2015.  The public can comment at the public hearing or submit written comments to the EPA by the extended deadline.
