Florence Community Services Department has partnered with Borderlands Produce Rescue to present a series of farmers markets beginning Saturday, November 23rd from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Borderlands is a non-profit organization whose focus is to “rescue” excess produce from growers and distribute to the public at an affordable price. This distribution program is called Produce on Wheels With – Out Waste or POWWOW.   Customers to POWWOW will be able to purchase up to 70 pounds of produce for only $12.00. Each POWWOW will be held in the Aquatic Center/Community Center Parking Lot at 778 N. Main Street. POWWOWs will be held the fourth Saturday of each month through May of 2020 with one exception. December’s event is on the third Saturday, the 21st at the same time and location. For more information, call the Community Services Department at (520) 868-7699.
