The final results of the August 26, 2014 Town of Florence election are now available from Pinal County.  Of the 4,176 registered voters, 1,505 votes were cast in the 2014 Town of Florence Primary Election. This resulted in a 36% voter turnout.  77% of the votes cast were done by mail ballot and 23% were cast in person on Election Day.

A candidate running for a seat on the Florence Town Council needed a minimum of 622 votes to be elected to office in the Primary Election. Of the seven candidates running for a seat on the Florence Town Council, Rebecca Guilin was the sole candidate who was elected to the Florence Town Council in the Primary Election. Ms. Guilin received 654 votes or 17.47% of the vote.  

Proposition 400 (Home Rule Option) was voted down by the voters.  667 “No” votes were cast and 622 “Yes” votes were cast.  This resulted in a 51.75% to 48.25% defeat of Proposition 400.  

The General Election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 4, 2014.  The remaining top four candidates, as identified in the Primary Election results, are running for two seats on the Florence Town Council.  The candidates for the Florence Town Council on the November 4, 2014 ballot are John Lee Anderson, Arthur Buckley, Lyle Gilbertson, and Vallarie Woolridge.
