Registration for the last winter-spring session of Pickleball Classes is now open.  Pickleball classes will be held four Tuesdays on March 6, 13, 20 and 27 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. These classes, offered by the recreation division of Florence Community Services, are designed to improve the skill level from beginners to advanced players.

Long-time instructor and tournament player, Ferd Sobota will provide instruction and direction on rules, equipment and tips on effective play and strategy.

Pickleball can be described as playing tennis on a badminton-sized court. It accommodates two to four players at a time.

The classes will occur at the pickleball courts, just west of the Library and Community Center at 778 N. Main Street. There is no fee, but pre-registration is required.

Register at the Florence Library/Community Center at 778 N. Main Street, Florence Fitness Center at 133 N. Main or online at www.florenceaz.gov/parks-and-recreation. The class is limited to the first 12 people who register.
