Florence Community Services Department has again partnered with Az Humanities to schedule a series of five historical presentations from November to March 2019. The first  is Armed with Our Language, We Went to War: the Navajo Code Talkers which is scheduled for Tuesday, November 13th at the Community Center starting at 6:00 p.m.  Code talkers were a select group of young Navajo marines who used the Navajo language as a secret unbroken code during World War II.  Code Talkers will be presented by Laura Tohe, an award-winning poet and professor in the department of English at Arizona State.  All the presentations are free.  The Community Center is located at 778 N.
